RCCG Mission Statements

As a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, we align with the global mission and vision of RCCG, which includes:
To make heaven.
To take as many people with us.
To have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
To accomplish No. 1 above, holiness will be our lifestyle.
To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.
We will pursue these objectives until every nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values

Pursuit of God: We are committed to seeking God’s presence in all aspects of our lives, driven by a desire to know Him more intimately through worship, the Word, and prayer (Psalm 42:1-2, 63:1-3; Matthew 5:23; Luke 6:21).

Christlikeness: Our goal is to reflect the character of Jesus Christ in all our actions, serving others with compassion and the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 14:16-20; John 20:21; Ephesians 5:2; Colossians 3:12).

Godly Family Life: We value godly family life, where parents model Christian values and create an environment that nurtures the spiritual, emotional, and social development of their children (Deuteronomy 6:7; Proverbs 22:6; 2 Timothy 3:15).
Marital Fidelity: We uphold the sanctity of marriage, encouraging husbands and wives to fulfil their spiritual, emotional, and intimate needs within the covenant of marriage (Proverbs 5:15-19; 1 Corinthians 7:3-5; Galatians 5:19-20; Hebrews 13:4).

Purposeful Singleness: We celebrate the unique opportunities of singleness, encouraging single members to use their time and talents to bless the church and the community (Matthew 19:12c; 1 Corinthians 7:32-34).
The Church as the Body of Christ: We are dedicated to the growth, prosperity, and unity of the Church, recognizing it as the body of Christ (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 3:9-11; 5:25-27; 1 Timothy 3:5).

Respect and Dignity: We believe in treating every individual with respect and dignity, regardless of gender, social status, or physical abilities, fostering an environment where everyone can grow in grace and realize their God-given potential (John 13:35; Romans 12:9-10; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 3:12-14).

Mercy of God: We acknowledge that all blessings come from God’s mercy, and we strive to extend that mercy to others, especially those who come under the ministry of the church (Psalm 52:8; Lamentation 3:22-23; Colossians 3:12; James 5:11).
Generosity in Giving: We encourage our members to give generously, understanding that all we possess is a blessing from God, and we give back to Him with cheerful and willing hearts (1 Chronicles 29:12-14; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 8:1-2,5,7; 9:6-8).

Integrity and Honesty: We uphold the highest standards of personal and corporate integrity, ensuring that our conduct honors the gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 13:8; Ephesians 4:15; James 5:12).

Servant Leadership: Our leaders are called to serve selflessly, following the example of Christ, putting the needs of others before their own (Matthew 10:42; John 13:13-15; Acts 20:18-19).

Unity in Christ: We are committed to the unity of the Body of Christ, recognizing that all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior belong to one body (Psalm 133:1; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:3-6,13).

Simplicity in Worship: We value simplicity in our worship, focusing on the substance of our faith rather than outward appearances (Philippians 2:3; Colossians 3:17).

Modesty and Purity: Our lives reflect our commitment to modesty and purity in speech, behavior, and dress, striving to live a life that is pleasing to God (Galatians 5:26; 1 Timothy 4:12; 1 Peter 3:3-4; 1 John 2:15-17).

Our Story

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Throne of Glory Parish, holds the distinction of being the first RCCG parish in Sherwood Park. Years before arriving in Canada, Pastor Oluwole Ajayi received a divine vision that revealed he would establish a church in Sherwood Park. The vision detailed the church’s name, location, and a special focus on ministering to children, guiding them through life’s challenges.

The journey began in November 2015 as a house fellowship at Pastor Ajayi’s home on Charlot Way, Sherwood Park. As the fellowship grew, it transitioned to the Rojugbokan’s family’s home. Following a prophetic word from the General Overseer during a congress in Nigeria, Pastor Ajayi, who had been in Canada for only a year and in Sherwood Park for two months, began searching for a permanent place of worship. With no car, he walked long distances daily, taking down contact details from property signs. His wife soon joined him in the search. Their persistence was rewarded when they met Mr. Eli, who played a key role in securing their current location at 198 Sioux Road. Mr. Eli helped with the design, obtained county approvals for renovations, and negotiated favorable lease terms.

With support from Pastor David, Pastor Ayo, and Pastor Kola Carew, the church officially opened its doors on July 10, 2016, after significant renovations. The early growth of the church was made possible by the contributions of many dedicated individuals. The Rojugbokan’s family, Mr. Balogun, who brought in Sayo Adigun from Christ Church to play the drums, and Pastor Ajayi’s children, Oluwabukunmi and Omolola, who learned to play the drums and piano, all played vital roles. Mrs. Alabi also contributed greatly, while Pastor Oyenkan sent ministers from Jubilee Parish, including Dr. Tolu and Kunle Abimbola, to assist. Pastors Rotimi Lawal and Onabiyi, along with their spouses, provided steadfast support.

This marks the beginning of God’s wondrous work in the life of Throne of Glory Parish in Sherwood Park.
